Reflection Journal 14

Its the final production lab of the semester and every group had to take turns to present the song which they've all worked hard on. What i've taken back from our given group presentation was that although we did time management, we didn't execute it very well. We spent a lot of our time on writing the song, focusing on the lyrics and melody but we underestimated the time spent on recording. As a result, our song was complimented but in terms of the quality and audibility, it was pretty bad. Though we knew we were doing something right with the songwriting since the song itself was complimented. Another thing I've learnt from this session was to be more critical with our feedback because in reality, the feedback or critics we receive in the future would be much more harsher. I've also reflected on how to choose my words too when it comes to giving feedback. An example would be " what you're doing is too generic". Instead of saying that, it could be " I would have done this differently" and its really all through the choice of words and sometimes the tone of how we say it. For this session it really was more focused on the feedbacks and songwriting rather than the technicalities.
